French Fancies at Vintage Home!

In August, homes sales dropped for the sixth straight month, as the housing market continued on it's downward turn, according to a report by the National Association of Realtors. Homes sold in August fell 4.3% from the previous month, and sales nationwide are down 12.8% since August 2006. Economic Outlook - Real Estate
The housing market in this country needs a boost, and hopefully that boost will come sooner than later, although according to Alan Greenspan, the real estate market still has a way to go before it bottoms out. In August, foreclosures were up 36% from July 2007, and foreclosures were up 115% from August 2006, according to a report by CNN.

Triple Digit Foreclosures in August
Tens of thousands of people lost their homes to foreclosure just last month, and tens of thousands more people are in line for more of the same, according to a report by foreclosures.com. Home Prices Up in Past Year
According to a report issued by Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, home prices have climbed in the past 12 months, albeit at the slowest pace in the past 10 years. Their recently released quarterly index states that home prices in the USA increased by 3.2% in the second quarter of this year, as compared to the same period one year ago.
