Japanese Style Home
A couple who attended one of our free green home seminars in Sunapee this winter asked us to design their new Japanese style timber home in Bradford, New Hampshire. This design for the 2100 square floor timber home, inspired by traditional Japanese homes, will incorporate large overhangs supported by timber exterior brackets which will help contain sun from overheating in the late summer

Picture a Tray
The only negative thing about making a door into a table is that the uneven surface makes it difficult to display things. I could have topped it with glass, but seriously, who wants to have that additional cost, let alone clean a glass surface constantly.My solution for creating an even surface is touse a tray. Last week I found two topiary wannabes at the thrift store. I knew that with just a little work I could help them reach their full potential as topiaries. I pulled out my stash of moss and dry foam (also purchased at the thrift store) and two pots, one from the thrift store and one from a plant I had managed to kill. International Flair, from me to you!
Coming off two international events, Canada Day and the Fourth of July, I thought it only fitting to pay tribute to some of the countries of my other readers. Now, I am the first to admit I don't know many dates of other countries birthdays, at least without thinking really hard - which I'm not always up for - but I did give it a thought this morning as I ate beans and toast (beans on toast),
